Can anybody tell me from the pic which groupset my latest purchase is wearing as i want to stick a triple on the front?

Also is it a square taper chainset or something more modern?

Do I need anything specific tools wise?

I appreciate shifter may not have capacity for three by would just run the two smaller rings anyway as i'm old.!!!

Thanks

looks like mirage to me , 111mm long bb axle for a double chainset and 115mm long axle on a mirage triple . The cranks are square taper so you will need a 14/15 mm crank bolt spanner to take the crank bolts out , do not forget to take the crank bolt washers out too . Looking at your bike it has allen key bolts . Not sure if the allen key headed bolts are one key release which means they might be self extracting cranks . If they are an appropriate sized allen key will pull the cranks off in one go . If not you will need a Campagnolo 770 or equivalent crank extractor tool to pull the cranks off the square tapered spindle . Then you will need a mirage bottom bracket tool if you are taking the sealed bottom bracket unit out . Hope this is of help .

Are these campag extractor threads different to shimano ? I have everything for them

I have some of those mirage cranks on a bike in the attic . Get the allen key bolts out counter clockwise to slacken . If you have a spare taper crank extractor tool that is not a French funny thread ie strong light/TA this will screw into the cranks . have you such a tool ?.

NB campy square taper BBs are longer and thinner at the square ends than shimano so stick with Campagnolo crankset unless changing the BB aswell. Nice bike btw
