I haven't been on here for a while, but I've just finished building this thing that I thought you might be interested in.
When I got it is was rattle-caned blue, with overspray in a lot over the bits, but was clearly a nice thing. Good quality bits and the frame is nicely finished.
The frame and forks are 531 with campag dropouts, I found the stamps when I stripped the paint. My instinct is that it's a fast-ish tourer from the late 70s or early 80s that was later converted for cyclo-cross (check out the mudguard eyes!). All the cables run along the top tube (slightly to the right hand side) and there's a pulley for the front mech, which probably means it was done before there were lots of top pull front mechs about.
I've built it as a fun CX/gravel/commuter.
I had it powder coated (Because I'm cheap) and put a stronglight triple on it. (Because I'm weak) I'm not sure about the Mavic rims, but they were free,(and they are bomb-proof)
