If you look close there appears to be a tiny shock driven off the upper part of the swingarm on the left side with the front of the shock attached to the down tube behind the water bottle.

Can't see anything on the left side near the bottle cage that looks like a tiny shock and I can't think of any way that a tiny shock mounted there would work. The only way would be a pull shock at or infront of the BB, a linkage/GT RTS style shock or basic soft tail style pull springs attached between BB and chainstays. The only thing on the left side near the bottle cage are the cable guides to allow the rear brake to work. I'd love to see more photos!
If it's cheap enough then it might be worth it for the XC pro parts (pedals are worth good money). EDIT, just seen the ad and at $400 it's probably a bit rich but could be worth it if you beat them down a few bucks.
