Hi guys,
I was wondering what you thought of my "new" Stumpjumper. I bought it almost like it is on the pictures. Just removed some ugly BBB bar ends, changed the saddle, and cleaned it. Oh, and also put some Ritchey bar end plugs in the handlebar.
LX front mech will be changed for a XT down swing (bought on ebay), and crankset will be changed for XTR M900 (have to give that one a big sanding/polishing job).

lovely bike, like it, classy frame geometry, frame colour is great, the silver parts suits the frame really well - flites also great choice.
good idea to change the cranks, current ones look to bulky for that frame - maybe XT 737 are perfect - 900 great choice also, but maybe a little bit over the top for the frame :?

Thanks all! Flite is imho the best looking bike saddle made. Choice of XTR crank was easy, a allready owned them. I'm also a fan of 5 bolt cranksets. And the 110 BCD looks good when riding 26/36/48 (It's not that I am THAT strong, but this bike will probably see tarmac most of the time ;) ). I also allready have a brandnew Suntour 26 tooth chainring. I bought this brandnew in 1996, and now I'll be using it for a 96 Stumpy!

Thanks! I was really surprised about the condition of this bike too. I bought it about 2 weeks ago, from a guy who only used it for "nice wether" commuting the last few years. His father bought it new back in 96, and the bike has been well maintained. I payed 90 euros for it, which doesn't seem to much for me

Hi there and welcome to RetroBike!

Lovely Stumpy you got there! And €90 is a real bargain! Looks very clean, just the way I like it!

Cheers,
Bart
