I have not yet had it delivered, but I can tell you that it has XT gears, and cantis, reynold tubes, SR Sakae cranks and pedals. I doubt the tyres are original. Full specs here http://www.firstflightbikes.com/raleigh.htm
It was Raleigh USAs third go at MTBs, and top of a range of three in 1986. They made one in in 1983, and one in 1982.
An it wont be a museum piece. First opportunity i will don some old jeans, a mostache and lumber shirt... and go and meet the local mountainbike club (Dorset Rough riders dot com) and klick their suspended arses... or be the last one to pub.
The clunker classic may have an Over 18's MTB class next year (the bike must be over 1
If anyone has any info on this 1986 Raleigh USA bike, like original RRP, it would be appreciated. Also suggestions for tyres.. where... what etc.
