My Holdsworth special 1971......

Re: Frame identification help....I know I know

Not negative in any way, just helping you to identify the frame in case of an error by Ellis Briggs.

I worked in a bike shop in the 70's and into the 80's and have come across hundreds of frames from that era and this frame simply sits in that era too. It's a cracking frame though :)

I know of "triggers broom " but as far as I can see to fit the 1951 build what must have been changed is..... Lugs, Fork Blades, Fork crown, dropouts, seat / chain stays, rear brake bridge, braze-ons and likely the bottom bracket oiler hole closed up.

Would look nice dressed in some correct era kit :)

Not sure why but the OP's frame has a touch of Johnny Berry about it...

Nope unless you're my age
Measure between the rear drop outs for confirmation.

Yes exactly my thoughts, really not wishing to be negative at all but there's just too much of it that doesn't fit with early 50's for me (as in pretty much everything) The one posted by Midlife looks much more like a 50's frame. Yours is still a cracking looking frame either way though.
