My GT Avalanche LE -96

Thanks for the tip - I'll grab some autoglym today. I don't think i'll need to sand the frame as it has come up mirror polished with only a little effort. It has been kept out of the elements over time which has helped.

So where do you get the Race Face crankset? I am thinking of leaving all as is on mine bar the cranks..

Keep updating us as to how you go! I'll send some photo's of the Avalanche when I get it.

Re:

I already have orange Turbines and Bombers. Also I'm still going to repair that Cooks driveside crank (unless somebody sells me a spare), so I have that option too. One pic from the frame in it's current form:

Downtube is sanded just in 400 and toptube is also but just for test buffed once and lightly by rag with metal polish. See the difference!

Re:

Almost a year has gone since bought this bike, so I think it`s time to update the situation of this project. Eventually I got the frame sanded and polished, though it took about 20 hours of hard labour. I builded it up just a few days ago. Still missing decals and I´m searching for XT front derailleur also. The bike feels very nice after a couple of short test rides.

Cheers!
