Hi,

I'm writting this very first post on the Retrobike Road forum to show you my Gios Compact Pro build.

This build is currently a mix of Shimano 105 and Dura-Ace 7400 parts.
Some parts aren't period correct

The frame was repainted but the used stickers are not really originals.


Frame: Gios Compact Pro, size 52, Deda tubing, 130mm spacing

Fork: Unknown aluminium fork

Headset: Stronglight
Stem: ITM Goccia
Handlebar: ITM Super Training

Brake Levers: Shimano BL-1055
Brake Calipers: Shimano 105

Shifters: Shimano 600 8s downtube
Front Derailleur: Shimano 105
Rear Derailleur: Shimano 105
Cassette: Shimano Sora HG-50
Chain: SRAM PC-830
Cranks: Shimano Dura-Ace 7402
Bottom Bracket: Shimano BB-UN70
Pedals: Look Keo 2 Max (not vintage a all...)

Rims: Mavic Open Sup rear wheel / Mavic Open Pro front wheel
Hubs: Shimano 105 rear / Spidel-Maillard sealed bearings front
Tyres: Vittoria Rubino Pro

Saddle: San Marco Concor Light
Seatpost: Shimano Dura-Ace 7410
Seatpost Binder: Campagnolo

Bottle Cage: Elite Ciussi

Weight: 9,2kg


Some parts will be replaced soon with :
- Brakes replaced with Dura Ace 7400 single pivot
- Rear mech replaced with a Dura Ace 7402
- Shifters with Dura Ace 7402
- Cassette with a Dura Ace 8s
- Black rear rim replaced by a silver one

Love the simplicity of the colour scheme, that really works for me :)

Not so keen on the odd wheels thats a real bugbear of mine :roll: Glad to see its on your to do list.
