Been browsing the forum for a little while but thought I'd sign up to shwo a few pics of my new build - so hi to all
Now...I am not sure of the year of this to be precise...perhaps someone could enlighten me? But I think the HT5 was around in about 2003? Not sure tbh. The post I found is here:
http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... sc&start=0
Interestingly, I randomly came across, what to me, looks exactly like my bike on this website posted last year by cannondale king who put it in the ---> 1997 section but I am fairly sure it is a little newer than this?
Anyway...rough idea of what I set out to do with this bike...I have been out of Mountain Biking for about 10 years and starting to miss it a lot...I used to own a Coyote and a Vision Pro back then and was torn between which to go for...but for some reason the Coyote won it for me.
Wanted to go for something that is quite light yet quite durable and within a relatively low budget. Tried to keep it as retro as I feasably could - with XTR stuff from the late ninetines etc etc - it is always very nice when you come across NOS items
But no doubt to some this is not in any way a purist retro build! Some of the bits I know aren't the best, did it more for nostalgia to be honest or bits that I have always wanted!

Wanting to find a lighter seatpost eventually (found it is difficult getting anything too nice in 26.8mm for some reason, I fancied an Alien Cyclops) and perhaps a different set of cranks but then probably not. Did a weigh in today (it's only rough as was on the bathroom scales though so give or take a bit) - and comes out at 21lb - so am quite happy with that!
Some bike porn...
