No really it does. :(

The Mtrax weighs in at a massive 13.5kg which is 2kg too much.

Its a 1993 raleigh Mtrax ti1000.

So if you had £100 to spend what would you target? It's stock down to the tyres apart from:
Handlebars = Bontrager race lite
Stem = FSA 90mm
Seat = Gel (not changing)
Pedals Kore race

I'm thinking, tyres, tubes, and seatpost

Do you have a link to the build thread with detailed list of parts.
But tyre/inner tube can drop loads of weight, but depends what grip you need out of the tyres. Keeping retro is much harder though.

You can drop 140g (.3lb) quite easily by changing inner tube if you have Tesco special or similar in there for less than £10.

Note for future in my head 13.5kg in lb is 29 3/4 lb

EDIT: found it on bikepedia

yes you are a bit heavy.

You don't have much Ti in that frame so it's not going to be superlite anyway, but sub-25lbs should be easy enough?

Get some Maxxis Maxxlite 310 tyres and some lightweight tubes (90g) and have a combined weight of less than a kilogram for your tyres and tubes, then save up for some Crossmax's and get a very lightweight wheelset... :cool:

Gel seat will be more than twice the weight of a FliteMax, which would be equally comfortable.

It doesn't say the bottom bracket used, but that can be another relatively inexpensive way of dropping some weight.

without sounding like im taking the piss, save the 100 and loose 2 kg by eating right and exercising. that would prob make more difference to your riding than sticking on some go faster inner tubes or carbon bottle cage :D

i did think that after i posted so yea the next port of call would be rolling mass. tyres, tubes, pedals. but then you could use the 100 for a gym membership and get some strength in your legs to ... oh never mind just go and enjoy buying new stuff for your bike :D

Best bet is to strip it and weigh everything! But your initial tyres tubes and post is a good start. You got a pic anywhere? Grips can be another £wise saver too and skewers to a lesser extent. At the very least I'd weigh the wheels.
