Muddy Fox catalog overview and some more brochures

Hi,

Maybe it shouldn’t be me, as an non-UK based forum user, trying to provide this overview about catalogs from Muddy Fox, one of the nice UK brands and heavily involved in the Mountain Bike boom in the early nineties.
I just came recently across a few brochures and have realized that the existing documentation here on Retrobike is not very comprehensive or at least pretty hard to find.

Therefore I made this overview rather for myself. But maybe also for others interesting:

The catalog archive is here:
https://www.retrobike.co.uk/archive/categories/muddy-fox-catalogues.35/

Here in the magazine and catalog section of the forum are quite a few more:
1984
https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/muddy-fox-1984.434524/#post-3172227

1988, unfortunately all pictures do have a photobucket watermark
https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/1988-muddy-fox-brochure-complete.275565/

1989
https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/muddy-fox-1989-catelogue.24047/

1990
https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/1990-muddy-fox-katana-catalogue.415580/

1995
https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/muddy-fox-catalogue-95.429209/

I have a few more brochures and a few more things on my computer. All now added to this post as PDF below.

1987 > https://www.retrobike.co.uk/archive/1987-muddy-fox-catalogue-maybe-incomplete.7/
not sure if this is complete, the pictures are from an offer of a brochure on ebay a while ago

1991 Accessories > https://www.retrobike.co.uk/archive/1991-muddy-fox-accessories-catalogue.542/
Looks from format an pictures like the 1989 regular catalog, but it clearly says 1991

~1992/1993 > https://www.retrobike.co.uk/archive/1992-93-muddy-fox-catalogue.543/
There is no clear date on it, but on page #3 they announce the launch of a few new things for 1992/1993

~1995 or 1996 > https://www.retrobike.co.uk/archive/1995-96-muddy-fox-catalogue.544/
Again without a date, from the portfolio it looks to me like just another 1995 one, or a 1996-ish brochure.
If someone knows this better please let me know.

@FluffyChicken Please let me know if there is a way to get all mentioned brochures to the Archive too. You’ve said something a while ago about a potential move to a new infrastructure, is this still going to happen?
Just wondering, it’s really meanwhile pretty hard to find all material in the big magazine and catalog section of the forum instead of the Archive.
I can also send you the single pictures of the ones I’ve just added PDFs for now.

If I have missed something or if someone is aware of other catalogs please or has brochures not digitized yet, please post here.

Love the 1991 accessories catalogue, it’s always the accessories that don’t survive. Interesting there is a multi tool branded MFX in there which I always associated with much later branding. There’s also Muddy Fox cuff links available in there would love a set of those!

Just attach them here as images/ pdf.

There is the new media and resources section (look in the drop down menu/menu bar).
But I'm not sure how you properly put it in the Archive tag there. Everything seems to go in Specialized category or similar @john is the one to ask.

Thanks a lot for the feedback and making me aware of the new "resources" section.

I gave it a try, but ended up as well in Specialized section, unfortunately.
It's also a bit miss-leading as all sections show up at the same listing. To me it wasn't immediatly clear buy this menu that Catalogues is just a sub-category for Specialized

How to generate than a new category like Muddy Fox in this case at all?

@john
Maybe i also don't get the greater pictures yet,
is this to replace the earlier Archive section, or will be the listings in Archive generated or enhanced by the Resources section in the future?

To me the Archive was quite an ideal thing to get in one glance an good overview about available documentation and catalogues for a brand or manufacturer.
To me the Archive and catalogue section is a great resources at Retrobikes, maybe it was even the main reason why i have joint this community years ago.

What is the plan?
If this is already described somewhere or ongoing discussion. Sorry than i simply have missed that. Can someone please provide a link?
If not, maybe it would be good to start sumarzing the plans or to provide a how-to for uploading and maintaining catalogues.

I don't know, all I know is the plan was to switch to something integrated into the forum.
I hope we keep the manufacturer, doc/pocs/Catalogues idea and the forum does the interlinking with tags.
And then a simple overview.
At the moment it's a bit too forum style that doesn't work for me.
I cannot make any new sections/Manufacturers.

@joglo

I have a few things to out up, I've just been adding them as new forum topics and attachments, it does make finding things harder.

I can still add to the Archive, but seems silly if it gets moved overs.

Also been a bit busy :).
