Mint Dave Yates Diablo (Condor)

Battersby

Devout Dirtbag
Just heading back on the train for another two hours after collecting a pretty much mint Condor 90's MTB. Cables are sticky and grips are shot but other that that it looks new.

Wasn't cheap at £350 but what would that have got you 24months ago?

Will upload pictures later.

Sneak peek. I bought it to ride the moors around be but its so clean. It was built to be rode though, shame its been stuck in storage for 30 years. May take the tyres off to not ruin them...

I've got it home, I actually don't think its ever been rode. The chainring and cassette look new as do all the components. The brakes are wrong though, v brakes when the spacing is narrow so the arms touch the tyres at the front. No marks on the tyres from this.

Very nice. Posh bike racks on GWR (?) too. SWR is a bloody free for all...... usually have about 8 BSO's dumped against my bike.

Very nice, I was watching that as I would like a condor but .... It was identical frame wise my Yates and Waugh 🤪 so I couldn't do it.

It's a super tidy example though and a competent groupset too, I just feel it's made for cantilevers.

Sweet

I was watching it for a few months. I'd talked to him a few times but we never settled on a price. I've been very busy with work but I got a rare week off that gave me some time to go on a train journey to pick it up.

NOS LX cantilever brakes are on order as are tyres, cableset and grips. Touch long so a new stem is needed but I want something period correct in NOS condition. I don't normally go NOS but I think this bike needs it so I can trash it all in the same timeline.
