Not mine, traditional auction Lichfield. Couple of Bromptons and a Moulton in the same sale. This one looks bigger than a 22”? I’d be very surprised to see it reach less than the estimate with a zero added, even then would be an amazing buy!

Not sure how they underestimated it by so much. Even the Bromptons are significantly under valued. Someone may get some good deals!

Low estimates pull in many more bidders. Everyone thinks they have a chance and helps push the price along

They charge 22% plus VAT.
So hammer price is £100
Commission is £22, VAT is £4.40
You pay a total of £126.40
Add a couple more % if you bid online too.

Stuff like bikes/household bric a brac goes for peanuts on some of these auctions. A friend of mine in London once bought two bikes for a tenner at an auction, couldn't take one of them so I picked it up for free.

You only pay VAT on the buyers premium.
The screen shot is from easy live. That registration thing is two ways of buying/premiums - a flat fee way and a %method. (It includes easy lives fee plus VAT). Depends on how much you’re buying as to what works out better.
