Hi, I'm a longtime retro roadie and haven't owned a MTB since the early '90s (Sorry!!).

Anyway, I have a chance to buy the above mentioned bike (for £140) and having no idea on value wondered if it represents a good deal? As you can see it's in good overall condition but I don't know what the group is.

For the price I’d snap it up for the frame, change the stem immediately and then upgrade as you go until you're happy.

LX mechs/ hubs, Sugino Mighty chainset and some lightweight cantilevers, along with the Wolber tyres, yes, a good buy at £140

Wish my firewood stock was like that.

But yes, looks in great condition, worth it, and will last years.

Not often good things come up in LBC and you are close to collect.
