Marzocchi MX comp '04

bit of a conundrum here. just servicing my marz comp mx 04s and upon reassembly, i could swear the travel has been reduced.
they were sold as 100-115 travel (ad the pic i have of them originally shows them with more travel than what i currently am faced with.
these are 'air' sprung and i havent pumped them with air yet, but will that increase the travel? i wouldnt have thought so, but ive never serviced these forks before......

am i being stupid?

Are you able to extend them further against the top-out spring? If so, then when you get some air pressure in them the travel will appear to be greater than it is now.

a little, but not sure its enough that some air will put the travel back up to 100mm.
its really bugging me. but cant really conclude anything till i get air back in them.
picking up a mates pump tonight/tomorrow, so hopefully i'l know where i stand then.

Just put air in each side, under 50 psi. As only need a small amount of air, I have had several pairs of MX comps/pros, I usually run about 35 psi each side

right, i got a shock pump, put in just under 60psi - i'll probably let this down a bit later - but the shock pump gauge only started at 60psi?? but it sorted the issue out nicely.
not sure how this works, as the resistance from the spring seemed pretty strong. anyway, problem solved and i feel a little stupid/more knowledgeable now....

Ideally you need a low pressure shock pump for Marzocchi forks. As with simonlovell, I ran my old MX Pro ETA forks at about 35psi.

OK - will sort that out - will they be ok with just under 60psi in them in storage? or should i let a few puffs out to be sure? dont want to damage any internals...
