Wanted Marin Team 1989/90

End of March was the new model supply date if i remember correctly, so up till then you could still buy an 89 in 90........ but catalogues started to appear late in the previous year. As always, i think we were a bit behind the states.

Nice to see another one....not so many 89s about as 90 or 91.....

For my money, i would go with a 91, as they are easier to upgrade / live with, due to the 1 1/8" head, a harder wearing frame with cast dropouts and a stiffer rear end thanks to afterburner thicker stays.

Very interesting, so does the light grey one picture have a smooth or textured paint surface?

89 is Smooth....its just normal paint.

So what is a light grey that's rough? Me think it's Zolatone.....?

Yes..its called zolatone. Light grey 90.....darker grey 91....

It wasn't without its problems....can't be easilly touched up and the rust seems to come through it, so im assuming its slightly porous somehow....

I recently bought one from Tootyred that I 'may' need to move on some point soon, depending on a vehicle purchase () so can keep you in the loop if you want? It's a 90 with light grey zolatone.
