Marin Pine Mountain year help...NOW SPLITTING!

As I mentioned earlier the 1989 Bear Valley had a full Mountain LX groupo. My 1989 Saracen Tufftrax has a Mountain LX / Exage mix so with the Palisades of the time being a similar spec and price point to the Tufftrax I'd say it's probably one of those if not a Muirwoods as Exage was below Mountain LX and yours has plenty of it. The DX headset could have been added at the point of respray and a XT rear mech was as popular an upgrade back then as it is now. The zolatone sticker defo points to a respray.

Late 1988/Early 89 Bear Valley looks bang on. Slightly molested one on eBay recently: U-Brake, Exage Mountain, high-rise flat-cap wheel stem.

Thanks for that info thats helpful....so think it just a bit of a "mongrel" more than likely a bear valley at best who knows...but its not a bike I think I will hold on to...any one after any bits!....

Thats a real shame Wookie. Its still a great bike though and you did ok for £70
Ever the mercenary i would be interested in skewers, seat clamp and forks if you are interested insplitting it, seems a shame though.

Yeah I know its not a bad bike but it was bought to help me make a "Marin based project" I am working on...and no longer seems to fit the bill so I need to re-coup what I can to try and buy what I need...

Well. If you decide to spilt it please let me know. I would certainly be interested in those bits. I know someone that may be intereted in the wheels too if that helps in your quest to recoup.

Or. Put it back on Ebay as it is. I'm sure you would get your money back......no wait, what am i saying? Selll me the bits i want first.

So its up for splitting...the pedals and rear mech are up on ebay to try and recoup some of the cost...everything else is up for grabs:

- Exage Mountain groupset brakes/gear levers, front mech, crankset, canti's and Ubrake.

- Araya Black rims on Exage mountain hubs

- Frame "marin something" and forks, seat post, stem bars etc
