Hello!
This individual I found from it's original owner who had it for 27 years before parting with it for about 50£. It had been a regular driver, but during the summer I went through pretty much everything, polished all the bits and replaced the basic wear-and-tear parts. The paint itself was in decent condition so I just tried to bring back the shine with some polishing wax and elbow grease. Only thing requiring some painting was the badly scarred seatpost that turned out quite ok. New decals I got from, surprise surprise, the masterful Gil.
It is pretty much in it's original spec apart from the two Stronglight front cogs that the original owner had replaced, and the NOS Maxxis tires I had in my own tire stash. Only thing I'm wondering is the paint scheme on this, as the 1991 Marin catalogues available show a totally different color Palisades Trail than this. Some regional color variation? I've seen a few of these with the same color scheme so there are definitely some more of these out there. (EDIT: This 1991 Marin catalogue clearly states there’s this color scheme on the bottom of Palisades page)
