Marin frame sizing question

Hi Guys,

Despite looking back through the catalogues in the archive none of them really let on as to how Marin measured their frames. I have read that they come out a bit larger than the stated size i.e 17.5" is more like an 18.5" does this sound right?

I'm looking at the Marin Team in the classified section which is a 17.5".

The extended seat tube adds about IRC 1.5" to the CTC measurement,so yes they are actually a bit bigger than you would expect from the Quoted size and most other bikes with the "same" frame size.Hope that makes sense lol.

Marin measured center to center bitd so a 17.5" would be a 19" usual speak.

I think you will find a 17.5" has about a 18.75 seat tube and a 23inch top tube.
19" has a 20.25 seat tube and a 23.5 top tube.
