I have a Manitou FS Bulge Fork that I would like to rebuild. It has only moderate use and is in good shape...
But the bike it was on was hung upside down in the basement years back and the oil ran out of the cartridge. By this time no parts were available from Answer etc etc.
When I disassembled it I found that the foam washer was disintegrated, but the rest of the internals looked great. It has been apart for some time now, but all the elastomers are still pliable. Replacements are available through suspensionforkparts.net as well.
Would any of you know:
Where to find a replacement foam washer?
If you can make a suitable replacement out of something?
The quantity and weight of the oil that would need to be replaced when rebuilding?
Is there anyone who can share any experience with these forks?
