Manitou comp repair help needed

I finally spent a bit of time on my Manitou comp. The legs were seized. I was able to make the sliders move quite a bit. They are in a better condition than some I have seen.

Questions:
#1 Will the sliders come all the way off? I have taken off the screws on the bottom of each leg, but it seems like the lowers are not moving anymore as I tap on them.
#2 the wipers/seals? are quite buggered up. I want to remove them, but they are stuck and it looks like there is some type of snap ring or ? holding them in? Anyone know about these and how to remove them?
#3 Do I get three? ;) Anyone know of a source or substitute for the wipers/seals?

Thanks
Thunderchild

I have a PDF of the owners manual for 1,2,3,4 EFC and comps, flick me a PM with your email and I'll flick the comp one to you in the next couple of days when I'm back at work

sharing the love since 2011 :D

After undoing the bolts/compression rods inside the stanchions:

1) Pop off the wiper seals/caps exposing the main seal & circlips
2) With a flat blade screw driver, carefully (ensuring you don't scratch the stanchions!) pop the circlips out of the groove in the top of the sliders (the circlips have a square-edged end & a bevelled end for removal)
3) Fully extend the fork & yank on the triple clamp to unseat the main seals & bushes from the top of the sliders

Your forks should now be separated. :D
