Manitou answer Three

Hi,

I'm currently trying to rebuild a pair of Manitou 3 forks (i'm not an expert on these at all) and searched this forum for advice. I noticed two differents models :

- some have elastomers only like on this diagram http://suspensionforkparts.net/manuals/ ... itou_3.pdf
- some others have a mix of springs and elastomers like here viewtopic.php?f=1&t=176307

Did i miss something or is are there indeed two different models ?

The originals had elastomers only. The spring addition was done by people sick of the elastomers turning to goo over time.

Elastomers have damping properties, springs don't. I did have a manitou 3 with an aftermarket englund air damper a long time ago. Never seen another.
