Magura brake help

Hi

I am new on your site and have a question

Just picked up a Proflex Beast frame with Magura hydraulic rim brakes which i know nothing about. The rear one seems set into released position as to remove the rear wheel i know this is a very silly question but how do you adjust it back to move the blocks closer to the wheel. Sorry for asking a really dumb question.

thanks for your patience!

No easy way to get wheels in and out without Magura brake quick releases unfortunately.

Let the air out of your tyres.

Travel ajustment can be done with the grub screw up near the brake lever.

I think the OP means that the rear set of Magura's are in the open position as if to allow removal of the wheel rather than in the closed position.

I think there's a lever or something? Never had any myself though.

Hi mate and welcome to the site.
I can probably help you but a pic would be helpful. If not don't worry.

a) Does it have the C-shaped brake booster that fits between the 2 calipers?

b) Is it a quick release mechanism or the older bolt-ons?

I have an exploded diagram lying around somewhere, that I'll try to scan in tomorrow when I find time; that should help. You're not alone with the Maguras though mate. They are buggers to set up first time.

Sounds like who ever fitted them has made a mess of it. And put the quick release the wrong way round. But a picture of the brake will help :)
