Macleans 1951?

220kestrel

Retro Guru
I have been asked to sell this cycle, the proceeds are going to a local Hospice.
Not sure what to do with it or any idea as to it's value.
I could just list it on Ebay but not keen on that.
Any help/advice greatly appreciated.
thank you,
Kerry.

Re:

Hi, from this distance it looks like the top of the range Macleans, the Eclipse, that lovely lug set puts it firmly in the 40's and early 50's. It is rare and very collectible, it would do very well in the auction arena. I don't like giving values from a distance, but I would expect it to reach ephgrave ( much commoner ) money, so be careful. Happy to assist and sorely tempted.
Thanks Terry

Re:

Re:

It's very nice and I think that it is an Apollo model.
A frame number would be good to find and could be on the seat tube, bottom bracket or right rear drop out.

Re:

Reading up on the Apollo model it appears to have been first on sale from around 50'-54'.

Re:

Yes, it is an Apollo, I was doing it off the top of my head, age related recall issues :D :D It is not the normal macleans you see in forums, nice to see, and thanks for the correction. Terry
