M900 SG-X chainring - when did it come out?

Ah ... is it just that the "extra lip/ridge" is a feature of the 48t SG-X XTR ring, but not the 46t, because the 48t has the extra diameter to accommodate that extra machining?

Don't mind me.

Possible. Feasible at least. Probable at best.

I’m fascinated by these, I have to admit until I saw one for sale recently with the SG-X moniker and Dual SIS sticker, I hadn’t ever noticed them.

LGF’s note about M900A differing to M730A and MT60A is peeving me a bit though. Only because I bought the NOS MT60 pictured in my post on previous page, thinking I’d struck gold with a set of NOS M900A bundles in my mistake LOL

I’m fitting them to my CBRs and replacing a knackered set of M900 SG rings, so that’s a huge improvement and VISUALLY the same - I think?

I need better photos of the three different types - or are there just two variants - M900 and non-M900?

Fascinating.

I suggest you count the number of teeth 46 to 48 variant...
and yews 950/1 5 arm used the same identical rings.

edit didn't see the second page.
there may have a been a 1993 SG-X variation and a slight change in 1994/5 too.
XT and XTR shared the same SG-X rings at the start a slight variation may have happened at the 95ish mark with the M900Ti release and that was subsequently used on the M950 5 arms.

the ring code changed from 9803 to 9480 for the 48T, 46T may have had a similar code change.
For the record, Shimano has uploaded all their back catalogues, not sure if they've got what you are looking for on there though, I don't think they had the 92, 93 XTR up. just the general later 900Ti as has been on most sites since i started (and in our archive iirc)
