Right...back to the real world.

It's rather difficult to keep track of all the rims and wheel sets in the workshop - 29, 27.5, 16 and 700c. What is all this variation in standard??
I thought I had a singleton rear M231 on TiGlide and hung it with all the other lonesome rims. Then this morning I took the Schwalbe studded snow tyres (yep) off the silver C16R and put on 1inch Durango road wheels and did a 30k with the Grom on the recently-resurfaced Klein road bike. A lovely morning. In the usual fatigue dream state on the home stretch I was staring at the front wheel and finally a thought sort of crystallised slowly somewhere deep in my brain. 'Duh....that's the matching front for the TiGlide rear....' And it was. So on with the singleton Mavic Sunset and off with the M231. As a result...here's the pair up for sale, as we have a dozen workaday 26 wheel sets on the go and this set needs to make room for the 29ers on Hope which True Wheels has just delivered.

These are a low milage pair with almost zero wear on the brake surfaces. All use was either road or South Downs, so no wear on the rims, unlike the grit of Yorkshire. Build by the irascible Dave Hinde in the early 90's - Ti Light Hope front 32H hub, bearings perfect, Wheelsmiths long butt BD spokes (fantastic spokes), satin M231. Rear TiGlide 8 speed hub - bearings perfect - Wheelsmiths as front - satin M231.

This is just a gorgeous wheel set - fantastically light (742g front and 937g rear) - and strong as an ox. On other wheel sets I have run these tiny Hope Lite hubs over the grimmest trails and they have never missed a beat.

I reckon 160gbp for the set plus postage but tell me otherwise. They are virtually as new, and since a set these days is never shy of 500gbp I reckon these are a blurry bargain. I also have two WTB on Ritchey hubs knocking around which obviously will be a lot less if you need something cheaper.

PM for dibs.
