In the name of reuse and restoration i am trying to save the life of some Shimano DX shifters for a 1994 Wheeler 6800. I have already stripped everything down and put it through the ultrasonic cleaner. Thing is, when you remove all the old gunk and grime the real problems surface =).
I took apart the right shifter because the up-shift lever wasn't returning properly and the problem is the return spring has broken off at the bend. Attaching pictures showing the broken spring and a non-broken one i found while searching for parts. Does anyone have a broken down shifter or parts lying around so that i could get this one back to working order? I will gladly pay for shipping and the parts of course!
