Long cage or medium cage??

Hi guys,

I've never been any good with numbers and I am trying to work out whether I can run a medium cage rear mech with my gear ratio setup... :facepalm:

I have a 2 X 10 set up with a 11-36 cassette and a 28-40 chainset. Can I run a medium cage rear mech happily? I have just got back from a long walk home after my rear mech got wrecked but a rogue branch caught up in my long cage rear mech. Thinking maybe a medium cage might be less prone to hooking up trail debris!

Medium cages appear to have a capacity of 37 teeth.
so you should be fine.
as long as you are capable of setting up a rear mech
