Kona go for the retro look with 2013 29ers.

After changing their logo every year, it looks like Kona decided to use them all for 2013.

They should just stick with the 1995-era serif font on that 29er; they never bettered that logo.

Nice bike, too (still not convinced about those oversize headtubes/steerers, though)

yes me, I'm pleased with it. that decals are looking good and so right :D

well done Kona !

You cant have a retro look 29er, they're not retro. Before you say it I know 29er was considered back in the day but it didn't happen and hybrids dont count !
It is a good looking 29er and it might have period decals but it should not be viewed as retro looking. Modern bikes should be modern and celebrate the now !

I don't think Kona were specifically going for "The Retro Look" when designing this, more that they realised there was gap in the market for what is ostensibly, a low volw volume, bespoke steel hardtail.

There is a difference between Retro Look and Retro Tech. It may LOOK retro, but thats only on account of it being steel, and therefor having more regular tubing than say, the Scanadium 26" Cindercones with their formed square-round tubing profile.

Its a 29" (modern/fashionable), Singlespeed/Sliding dropout (modern/fasionable) integrated headset (modern) with skinny tubes and old style graphics

Interestingly, I had no idea that from 2010 onwards, there have been no Explosifs or Kilaueas, other than 1 year as frame only

This must be a good bike? As the only part of it your talking about are the decals

I've got great (gil_m) decals on mine.

Actually I quite like it; does have a kink in the downtube but from what I've read on here previously that's a legal thing and given that they've done quite well to minimise the impact. Looks very clean and crisp. Good effort I reckon. :) (And that's as a lover of fat tubed GTs)
