I have decided to sell my Kona, I love it but I have too many bikes getting noticed that were sneaked into RBG towers without the bosses knowledge, well she's spotted a few after deciding to do some potting in the garden and now the trowel is out of reach.... as much as I think this is the nicest Kona I have ever owned I do feel Its a tad small for me so it is for the chop first.

Beautiful splatter blue/white paint is in good condition, it does have some scratches but no dents/dings, decals are in good condition, no missing lettering that I can see and it has remnants of the dealer decal too. sizewise I think its classed as an 18".

I built this from frame/forks up so sourced the Exage 300lx from wherever I could get my hands on it, it does have its original headset which is still going strong albeit a bit pitted, get some duraglit on that and it'll be good for another 20+ years I reckon, STi gears all work fine as do the brakes... trusty U- brake rear will ensure you stop in plenty of time, 300LX chainset is in really good nic coupled to a deore BB and it has exage mountain pedals too, wheels are exage on some weinman /bontrager rims, BCX something or other, stem and bars are as original as dammit and some lovely foam grips finish the steering off, Saddle is an old gel san marco flite thingy... its so comfy for a saddle like a razorblade.... it was used as my works ride for quitea while so tryes are 1.5 slicks to ensure tarmac speed and grip.

not really sure where to go with this so I'll say ....£120 collected from York, open to suggestions

Re: kona

Hello mate

You mentioned it was a bit too small for you. Can I ask how tall you are. I am 5'11'' and potentially interested.

Thanks
Dawit

Re:

Roughly the same height as you TBH,

I had the stem up to its max, seatpost height was fine but It just somehow felt ... Small, I have had kona's before but always used riser bars for comfort, didnt want to do that with this as it seemed to look just right as is, thats just me tho.

problem with this era kona is they go from this to gigantic in one throw.

Thanks for getting back to me. I really love the look of this but have fears about the size.

Also I live in north London.

If you don't find someone to buy locally and do feel like posting I would make you an offer and take a chance with it.

Thanks
Dawit

I'm also 5'11" and my 18" Fire Mountain feels fine to me as far as fit is concerened and another point i'd like to make is that not all riders of our height share the same leg and torso length and of course arm length can make a huge difference to regards comfort too so any how my leg length is 30" and it feels just right to me from pedals to the top of the saddle and my arm's reach from shoulder to the center of the palm of my hand is 19.5" so i hope that helps you decide ..

Ian .
