Kona explosif, Decisions decisions ....

Re:

That's really nice. I have to say, I'd clean it up and keep it original.
Either keep it as a nice bike, or if you sell on I'm sure some profit would be realised and you can invest that in similar DX components for your other frame.
Maybe even see if a prospective buyer has some DX (or better) to trade?
Owning one of these has always been bubbling at the back of my mind... The top (mainstream, at least) Kona in a year I was really into MTB (but I had a Fire Mountain)!

Judging by the cinder cone. you look like that sort of chap that needs a project. Assuming you have space for everything. I would loft it. finish the cinder cone. and then have the explosif ready to start.

I agree the cinder is too much of a proper personal project to let go yet... even if it is for an explosif.

your cinder cone project is the real deal, take what you need from this to get that done, finish it and the see what you can do with this

super light and tight single speed springs to mind

Re:

The Cinder Cone frame isn't in the same class as the Explosif, so to me robbing parts from this would be like taking the wheels off a Ferrari and selling the rest, in order to improve your Ford Focus.
A project is only a means to an end, and the end is to enjoy riding the bike. I can't see how anybody could prefer riding a Cinder Cone to an Explosif.

Thanks for all the suggestions ... I'm more indecisive than ever now
