Kona Explosif ~'94 (ribbed down tube) silver/blue 19"

As title, I am trying to find an Explosif frame like I had many years ago. If I recall it was a silvery/gold fading into blue and definitely had the longitudinal ribs (splines?) on the down tube.

Cosmetically I don't care but I would love it to be physically sound, and 19"

Over here we didn't get a fade paint scheme at all. It must have been a euro thing

I think I'm right in saying all of the '93' range had the two tone colour scheme.
It wasn't till '94' that they brought of the single colour like yours.
I've got a '94' the same as you but its a 18", I also think it the best year of
Explosif to have but then again I would

Yes, it is a 1993 you're thinking of. I've just overhauled a 19" one and done a fresh paint job. I went for a 1992 colour scheme: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=335114&start=30

I'm half considering selling my bike, but it won't be cheap and I've just bought a full XTR groupset to go on it!

I haven't been on here for a long time and clearly I'm a little out of touch!!

I thought I saw an article about the '94 bike being the first with the ribbed down tube so assumed that to be the one. 'not sure if there is some overlap of the model years vs actual release dates but either way, it is indeed a '93 I am after.

I found this website, http://si-phi.com/cycles/kona/kona_expl ... losif.html, probably well known to all the Kona experts but it does show the model I am after, interestingly it seems to have been designed for rigid forks (normal P2's rather than extended). Mine had RC35's but clearly these weren't offered. I did buy it secondhand but only a few months old and from a dealer so assumed it was standard.
