Kona Dudu forks

I've bought my eldest a Kona Dudu. Unfortunately when it arrived the forks aren't much good. They're marzocchi z3 QR20 + AND squelch they also only seem to have 50mm of the 100mm travel. Should I repair them? Any ideas what the problem is? Or should I just replace them and what with?

The squelching is something completely normal about Marzocchis.
They are easy to service, parts are readily available and inexpensive.

Have you backed off all the adjustments first to check the travel?

Yes tried backing everything off but doesn't really do a lot. The adjuster on the bottom of the right leg just seems like it'll fall out.
