Wanted Knackered SPIN anyone?

Morning all,

I picked up a pair of SPIN wheels a few months ago but the braking surfaces are very worn and one section has broken off. So, with the rest of the wheels in good condition I figured I'd try and 're-rim' them. I'm in the process of taking the old rim off, it's bonded to the three spoke main wheel, once this is off I'm going to try and source some rims to re-fit.

If anyone has any knackered (broken main body) or un-rideable SPIN wheels then I'd be really interested in them, I'm aware this is a big ask for such an iconic but of kit but hopefully there might be something out there. Failing this I'm going to try and source something of the same profile and do a DIY job to get them fixed, the bike is an RTS and will purely be a wall hanger with this wheels and I'll have another set for riding.

please let me know how you get on as i noticed a hairline crack on the rim of one of mine,just one side not both,was thinking of trying to get it welded but not sure if that will work,tbh they are more for show bikes anyway but the ocd kicked in so fixing it isnt debateable lol,thx

I read somewhere that spin used to offer a re-rim service. Do they still exist? Do they still offer this? They might be able to at least help with info on compatible rims and process of they are still about?

That’s good to know, I know they were bought/taken over by a different company who are still producing them for wheelchairs mainly it seems but not had any luck so far on emailing them.
