Klien Mantra Race
I’m selling my Klein Mantra Race, Owned it from new purchased in 1997. Great piece of retro nostalgia and a great ride. Wanting to get a new carbon hardtail so looking to raise some cash!!!
It’s a medium 18inch from centre of crank to top of seat tube.

As you can see from the photos it’s pretty much mint, a single chip and the odd abrasion mark. never raced, no crash damage, mostly long cross country ride and the odd bit of trail park. Totally straight.
Been used as a second bike pretty much the last ten years.
One of the last built in the USA Kleins before Trek started shifted production to Taiwan. Cost me £1600 back in the day.
About 4 years ago I threw some cash at it….it had a replacement set of Mavic Cross Rides with specialized enduro up front and chunder xc at the back, a new FSA headset , race face stem and Easton ea50 bars. Plus a bb regrease. The Rear shock also got a service. About £400 of work…
Hard to judge a reasonable value, there are some mad prices on Ebay in the US for these and a fairly hard ridden lower spec one sold on ebay last week for just shy of £400.
I think £595 sounds reasonable , let me know what people think… before I put it on ebay.
Happy to box up and ship to Europe US ETC or collect from Central London.
Spec
Gradient tubing
Rock Shox Judy XC / Fox 5R rear
Full Shimano XT (apart from LX front mech) (crank upgraded to XT at purchase)
Shimano pedals
Mavic Crossrides
Easton EA50 bars & RaceFace stem
Specialized tyres
