Excellent, Cheers Melv.

Uncannily similar to the build I have gone with on mine - and I've only just seen this article...!

Black, plastic frame... blackwall tyres.

Thats a modern bike isn't it?

Love it. This was the future.

Earlier this week I encountered a red CS-X with Syncros and later era suspension fork at the lbs. It was there for service. The bike was still in use as regular rider on the local tracks I understood.

In a writing from the importer in 1990 I read that a CS-X EMS frames weighs 1300 gram.

I think that's right Melv.

However, I'm sure there was a review in one of the mags at the time which suggested that Kestrel had gone a bit 'too far' with the weight saving on those lighter frames and that the chainstays had cracked and come away from the BB shell...?

I might be thinking of something else of course, but it rings a bell...
