Not sure how to start this one off as there was a lot of debate about it on the forum, but after talking to a mate I took the plunge and during the week it finally turned up. And what a beauty it is. The frame is in very good nick, no cracks or dents and it has the following components:

Magura brakes
Cooks cranks
Mavic headset,
Mavic bottom bracket.
Xt thumbshifters
Xt rear mech
Xt front mech
Kinsberry seatpost
Salsa stem
3ttt bars
flite saddle
Xt pedals
X-lite bar ends
X-lite seat binder bolt

The wheels are not original but I've got an idea for them

For now, I'll leave it at that and you can just absorb all the pictures.

I would be interested to know this. Would there be anything significant in the frame number (first image) as its quite a low number (F2-012A), but then I'm not sure how many were actually made?!?!? If anybody has any ideas it might help with the restoration and what direction it goes in...

My initial thinking is to give it a full strip down, clean everything up and see whats what. All the cables and bolts need replacing but hopefully nothing more.

Absolutely love these.

That 2nd to last picture makes me very nervous though. Could you check the BB area again? That does look like a crack in the front half of the BB housing, right where it transfers into the frame itself.

If it is indeed a crack, it can probably be fixed by a skilled carbon wizard. It's not a place people will see when you're riding the bike, so a patch-up-job will be pretty much invisible.

However if it is a crack, I wouldn't ride it hard anymore even after a repair. Conidering the location, I wouldn't even put all my weight on the pedals anymore.
Just cruise it through the park, to show modern generic MTB riders what crazy stuff they made BITD. Or put it in your garage or sell it to a cycling museum or something.

It looks a join in the two halfs of the mould so might be an easy fix
