The original bicycle was in very decent working order in the first place. The only changed components are the stem and a new chain. Iain whom I bought the Pavey from had really cherished the bicycle. The residual ' velo love' haunted this fine machine !!!

So having to put my own stamp on it I decided to have her finished in Sky Blue. A change from the original orange... a solid colour but equally striking.

Pavey in Blue

So here she now is... looking fine in blue.

I have to put the toe clips and straps on.

Actually I may well change the pedals over to a set of Shimano 6400's.

Nice job, looks great in that blue. I like the way the forks seem to curve all the way down.

I'm surprised to see a 653 frame of that age without brazed-on gear lever bosses, front mech boss or allen key brakes.

Mark.

thanks

Thanks for the compliment.

Yeah don't know why it did not have brazed on shifter bosses and a front mech hanger. Would have been nice, considering the quality of the frame. Or allen key brakes....may be it was on the modern cusp hanging on to tradition...?
I won't grumble too much because it rides really well, but I hear what you are saying.

Re:

Wow thats lovely and built by a Pavey (i'm Gareth Pavey).
Whats the story as i've never heard of him?
