I'm pretty sure this has been covered but can't seem to find a thread, internet has not provided a conclusive answer.

Some say grease, some say oil and some say not to lube them 😵‍💫

Jockey wheel lube ?

I mean the bush inside etc, after cleaning.

Help me out Retrobike 😎

Ceramic them I tend to use a medium/thick lube (winter stuff).
Ball Bearings or metal tube then a slippery thin grease.

Though I have been know, more often than not now, to just grab the tube that the other end to the crap has cracked open, and just wipe a bit of the red grease on it.

Edit, for the record as I've remembered the names.
The slippery stuff I use in forks and hope ratchets etc is Rock 'n' Roll Super Slick grease

The lube is Finishline Wet winter lube, works well on old fork stanchions too between services.

The red lube is Rock N Roll Red grease. Which is just a great general everything grease.

All bought cheap at the time of course.

Used to dismantle and carefully grease, now they only get a spray with GT85 without disassembly. As long as they don't squeak I'm happy.

striped and cleaned about twice a chain. in between they get a clean on the outside and a dribble of what ever chain lube I'm putting on.

Bit of grease on the bushes and light chain lube on rubber seals if it has them. Future Retrobikers will be thankful 🙂 I’ll be pushing up daisies…
