Hello all! I'm Georgie Yukiko Donovan, a British documentary filmmaker. I specialise in stories of people who push boundaries—especially when it comes to sport. I'm working on a documentary about Jacquie Phelan- her life and legacy in MTB. I'm currently in the research process and am keen to hear thoughts/insights/experience related to Jacquie and her impact on the sport! I'm also currently trying to collate any archive (video and photo) that is out there so I can get a visual sense of the world. Would love people to share if willing 🙏

Hi Georgie!

Glad to know that someone has picked this subject up. To my knowledge there isn’t much on Jacquie in terms of a complete documentary so it would be great to see an effort like this one materialise.

I am tagging @manuelschafer who is a big fun of Jacquie and Charlie in case he can help you with your research.

I am sure there are other funs of Jacquie in this forum that might be able to help too.

Please keep us updated on your efforts with producing this documentary!

Thanks so much! And you're spot on- exactly why I'm working on this project- it feels like she's somewhat been written out of history in terms of the mainstream narrative around MTB and specifically women in MTB.

I'll certainly keep you updated and also just want to add- I'm also crowdsourcing snippets of audio/video of anyone who has any thoughts on her so I can use to put together a little sizzle reel as part of this initial development stage. (e.g. Who is Jacquie Phelan, any standout memories, what was/is her impact, etc.) so if anyone here would be open to recording their thoughts- please do send to me here or upload on to Google Drive folder https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12avUWxnfz_dvAW_yhkgZamKyk9A2KhIq?usp=share_link
