My dream bike as a kid now sits in the kitchen waiting for a re-fresh! Trouble is I'm not all that clued up these days. Likelihood is that I'm going to be pestering on here for advice, if that's ok?

I really like the bright yellow paint job of the DX's, so am I allowed to 'down spec the frame' so to speak?

It may be a slow burner this one. I've just stripped the wife's Specialized due to paint issues so that needs dealing with first. That, coupled with a car that demands more attention than is healthy means that my focus may well be elsewhere!
I've also got plenty of research to be getting on with too!
