edit number 2!!! :D

refence times!! decided that the best ferry time is the 9.25am ferry. so i would aim to be there just after 9am. this will give you time to get your bikes in 1 piece and to get tickets sorted, there can be a queue at the ticket desk.

post code for the terminal is so41 5sb, lymington pier.

ALSO, PLEASE BRING ATLEAST A REAR LIGHT, LAST TIME IT DID GET DARK QUITE EARLY AND MOST PEOPLE HAD NO LIGHTS, SO JUST FOR PIECE OF MIND BRING SOMETHING JUST INCASE!!!!

if anyone wants my phone number, send me a pm for it!

EDIT . . . .again! sorry

Basically i've been drafted in at work on the 6th, can't get out of it, have tried. :x

so it will have to be the 13th of december, apologies if this affects whether anyone can come.

i've done a facebook event link aswel so hopefully there should be a good group of us, remember you are welcome to bring mates aswel, don't mind how big the group is really!! :D

due to gus (wu tangled) hinting for another island ride i have checked the dates that i can do.

because i work shifts this means the earliest i can do a ride will be

29/11/09

6/12/09

13/12/09

this is not a bad thing for me either because it means i can try and get some miles in before hand!

bearing in mind it will be winter i would suggest an early start at the lyminton ferry terminal on the date we decide upon. last years winter ride we got a 10am ferry meaning the lunch stop was abit dodgy to get to and we ended up riding back via the road through lack of time and then it started to get dark! so i would suggest a 9am ferry on the day if possible.

the ride will be similar to what we did in the summer for those that have been before with a pub stop at lunch time. think it worked out as about 25 miles in total but the pace was sensible and no one gets left behind.

as far as i'm concerned you can ride what you want, retro or that new fangled stuff! and your welcome to invite friends and non forum members, even if they frequent singletrackworld.com!!

you can park at the ferry terminal, approx £4
ferry return ticket is approx £11
plus whatever you have at the pub!

for those who haven't been before the island is quite hilly so expect to occasionally use the granny gear if you're running old school gear sizes! but the terrain itself is pretty easy without to much technical stuff. the views are awsome and plentiful so i'm sure the virgins will like it!!

here are a few facebook links to some of the rides i/we have done to give you an idea of the day.

Send me a PM when you have a date set Jonny and I will add it to the main events calendar. ;)

any dates ok with me i think.

:D

great ride this chaps. worth a trip. (let's just hope it's a crisp sunny cold day like last year)

I've not been able to make the other rides out on the island but will keep an eye on this one, can do the December dates at the mo.

Think I can only do the 29th out of those 3 dates :( The 6th is a maybe, and I'm hoping to be in Manchester to see The Courteeners on the weekend of the 12th/13th
