To be honest nope I don't have build threads as most are just my bikes that I've had since new. So the three ibis have modern ish builds. I don't think people would be that interested in them. I ride them.

The Funk does have and I bought it ages ago as I had a Funk bitd. I went looking for a Funk and ended up finding a little loved Funk with a USA flag paint job. People tend not to like it. I decided to take pity on it and throw the bling build at it. It's clearly too much for people to stomach as it gets nowhere in botm.

The Clark Kent was a local find a couple of years ago. I live outside London. I think I started a thread it then stopped as my mrs gave birth to twins. My hands are quite full. Progress is slow but wheels are now built so I might update the of thread.

Everytime I think am edging nearer to my early Orange collection being complete, (anything from 89-94) I unfortunately see another one that I like :facepalm: . On my wish list still, a 1990 Clockwork, as I have an 89,91,92,93,94. Would like either a clockwork/prestige 1992 in purple & orange colour scheme. An Orange vit t, and some more Orange and white fade Orange bikes as I only have one and love them!! God help me :facepalm:

I'm currently on the other way, paring down my "collection".

My first mtb was a '92 Trek 950, and although I liked the 970, I could not afford it being just 16 years-old and paying for it with my little savings (my junior account, opened by my father when I was 3 was left at zero afterwards!).

With the years I realized that:
-the 970 was basically the same bike, only one level up in componentry, and with a less cool color (lila instead of my cool shiny black)
-the bike abilities have always exceeded the rider capabilities, so no need to search for a "unicorn".

Now though I have slowly collected different Trek 950's from the early 90's: one for my wife, one to leave at the in-laws for those weekends when we visit them, and one at my parents. Enough.

I see that pattern in many in this forum. Our first bike was from brand XX for whatever the reason, and we start collecting bikes from that brand/year/range to "expand" our fond memories of that bike, no matter what the rest of the world think about them.

I'm going the same way.

I just don't ride my bikes at all, so it's gotten very hard to rationalize owning more than one. I'm paring it back to three that I just can't part with;

'98 Dekerf - it's a Dekerf, you can't sell a Dekerf
