Is this sacrilege?

SWMBO wanted a new kitchen clock. I know what that means - I have to sort out a new kitchen clock.
So into the garage and I came up with this...
20231116_130705.jpg

A pair of Campag rings -53/39 - that are far too big for me to push these days.
Some bolts from the spares box.
An aluminium disc and a clock mechanism from everybody's favourite on line market place.

Suprisingly enough she quite likes it, or says she does.

Based on what you've made I'll probably make a similar one. Like you, these days my knees hurt at the thought of pushing a 53T ring!

It was actually very easy to make. The hardest part was finding the yellow disc. Google was hammered. I could have black or silver but I didn't fancy either of those. This yellow was the only other colour that I could find.
I'm undecided about the red bolts. I "think" they may have been better black, and red bolt heads exopy glued on the outer rim on the 5 minute marks.
Does it really matter? Probably not.

Excellent work .
I have a TA 50 t chain ring I made into a hot sauce pan stand .
Loads of use bike components repurposed over the years .
Simple ones like a drinks bottles into cheap mudflaps .
Frame tubing has many uses .
You can make some nice interesting articles . Bar stools etc . Cranks and pedals used as foot rests .

The aero plane is work in progress.

Keep the red bolts , they look mint .
