Bike-Barometer 2020-2021 is a collaborative, international project led by the University of Valencia, and the University of Southampton is involved in UK data collection. This is a call to participate in that work.
There are clearly many factors contributing to cyclist-related road trauma, from infrastructure and users at the sharp end, to the laws and policy frameworks set at national and international levels; however, the end user can often bear the brunt of the blame. Bike Barometer 2020-2021, which spans 15 countries, aims to look more deeply at this. Do people’s cycling-related behaviours and attitudes really explain crash involvement? How are these factors, and demographics, related to each other? Should we even be looking at ‘risk’ in this way?
To help answer some these questions the we would like to inviting anyone over the age of 18 who has used a bicycle in the recent past and is resident in the UK (regardless of your nationality) to complete an online questionnaire, with all responses remaining entirely anonymous. The questionnaire takes around 15 minutes to complete.
