as above: Insurance- what do you guys do- how much do you pay?
I've never really bothered figuring that retro bikes aren't worth anything like what they were when new, and that you can't buy another one even if you wanted to, I've always taken the mode of high-security rather than insurance.
However, having just had some lovely pikies nick the lead off the roof, and bash in some brickwork, its all too close for comfort.

I already have: Locks, shotgun, dog, electrified door etc as preventative measures; but if it all goes Pete Tong, it'd be nice to have some cover. .

Your thoughts gents. . might even have a 10 day poll on this one ;)

none of the above - I keep all my bikes in the cellar which is alarmed with the rest of the house. And when I'm out and about on a bike it's either attached to me or within eyeshot.

M&S Premier cover, without doubt the cheapest and most comprehensive cover I have ever seen. Cheaper than my old cover, unlimited total, upto £4k non-itemised, includes bikes in and out of the home, includes accidental damage, includes mobiles, blah blah blah, it is the dogs....

On the house insurance, which is an all bells & whistles policy.
(Although I will now be checking out M&S Premier!)

M&S for me too. Looks fine on paper, would be interesting trying to claim for 11 irreplacable bikes ;)

Impressed with the shotgun and electric door though

Make sure you have a component list for each bike - they can be pragmatic about value or provide you a big box of shiny spares. Don't know why I bothered to be honest, never gonna happen to me, lalalalalala

insurance

i use abbey contents insurance new for old on mine. I know it means if the worse comes to the worse i lose my beloved roberts i can get a shiney new one to ease the pain.

Plus insures up to 2K on all products outside the house.

If all else fails i don the black cape and large guns and go hunting!!!!!!

living in suffolk i need my german shepard bob my shotgun my house hold insurence and razer wire/broken glass on the top of every fence to keep the thiefing interbreeds out failing that i get the bat plus everything is nail down and i got my own eye in the sky plus flood lights on trip the best thing is im not joking  so dont even think about it boys

surprised there ren't mor vigilante dog owners amongst us! At ne quote of £600 p/a, its cheaper to buy a pedigree lion I would think. . .
