so i am probably going to be moving from montreal to london this fall, and will be living in a central area...

...so how you londoners deal with your mtb habit? what's near/accessible etc.?

Train out to Box Hill and ride the North Downs?
I used to ride along the Thames to Richmond Park...pick it up at Barnes.
Not exactly XC riding..but you are limited in Central London.
Or just get up really early on a fine Sunday morning and tour the city on your bike without all the traffic...beautiful city when you can see it properly :D
Cheers, Carl

I spent all day yesterday in london, after living in surrey for 3yrs & spending time in london I cant think of anything nice to say about it!

as mentioned the north downs arent too far away & feel green & beautiful compared to inner london

I reckon London is a pretty scary place and i'm from Glasgow
Surely theres other places than london.
Come to Scotland , 3/4 is pure riding country, you can help us rebuild Hadrians wall ;)

I live in London and I'm from Wales. Don't like it here but won't be hear for long now.

In Highgate there is a place called Queen's Wood. Bikes ARE allowed and it's okay. If you imagine the wood as a circle and the middle dips down to an empty pond. You can kind of circle it and go up or down or as you please really.

It's the best place I've found so far and it's quiet on week days.

I'm now living in Wales. Cardiff was 'sold' to me as the fastest growing City in Europe...cosmopolitan etc.....utter nonesense
Although where I live (Penarth) is nice and quiet and ideal for the kids, the
cough City is pretty backward.
I run a wine shop in the City centre, and boy is it challenging.
The most requested product......mead....MEAD...I ask you, what century are we living in :?:
London is a great place...when you are young with no kids...or have heaps of money.
