how to remove a freewheel from a hub

but the tricky thing is how to do it in case you forgot and removed the rim before removing the freewheel, - like me ;( so it is not possible to hold it properly while applying enough torque....

I tried many options, as described in this forum ... On other ocasions some worked out for me as well, but this time it was really stuck.

So in case some one else is facing the same situation, here it is how I managed to get it done:

Basically, you need to have a brother in law like mine with a nice vise , always ready to help, and some wood strips .... We built yesterday after the barbacue a mini-jig like this, securing the hub with some pins using the radius holes.

- having a barbacue before building the jig was great but not mandatory -

Nice solution. I've had to get stuck freewheels off hubs a couple of times, and laced s rim back on to the hub, even just one flange I'd enough to get enough leverage

Agree with Foz, it is usual to lock the freewheel remover on with the hub axle or QR, the pressure helps to loosen the freewheel.

And it stops the remover from slipping and damaging the freewheel.
