Seriously, don't you remember the news on 1 Jan 1998 when the newsreader said:
"Today is a new dawn for mountain biking. Any bike bought after today won't be retro"
The split in readers bikes is a good indication, up to 97 Retro, after 97 non Retro, not that your bike wont be interesting to Kona enthusiasts just not regarded as Retro.
Bit like Classic cars and Modern cars really, but then there are people driving around thinking there car is a "Modern Classic" or "Future Classic"
