as a motorist, if somebody drives into the back of you or the side of you, the default assumption (either here or in Europe) is that it is their responsibility. In this country a cyclist is not in that position and consequently most motorists who hit a cyclist get away with it.

Nowt wrong with that. I ride Sustrans regularly and whose idea was it to put Ramblers whom can't walk in a straight line, horses that drop dung bombs, mother's with a pushchair (whom never seem to put their child in it) and their two year old always seems to run out into a path of a bicycle and the "mother" claims it wan't her fault - all on one non-tarmaced track?

Also, fat-ass-joggers with ipods (so they can't hear you acomin') dog owners without a lead for Rover, and Council Housed And Violent gits who like to put branches and string across the path for "fun"?

This is my third year with CTC and a member for insurance purposes.

I used to be on the CTC forum but came out of it as the majority on there are just moaning old gits.
